Yes I completed my first bit of DIY, finally, after starting it last year…I had this old pair of jeans from New Look which I rarely wore. I decided last summer that it would be a brilliant idea to cut the legs off and turn them into knee length shorts. Well this saw me wear them even less as I hated the awkward length…I turned the ends up so they sat just above my knees but it was no good, I still hated them and simply banished them to the back of my wardrobe.
Due to the prospect of ‘good weather’ which I say while crossing my fingers.I thought now was the time to rescue them and actually finish what I started. I decided to be brave and simply chop off about 5 inches from the length. I knew I didn’t want them so short that it became obscene when I bent over. I also still wanted to make them flattering. This saw me chop off a bit more material and cutting with a slant so the outside ends were shorter.
To be honest me thinks I may have got carried away in the moment..I was getting annoyingly excited about doing DIY…here’s the result..oh and I do realise that one side looks a bit longer than the other, I am yet to rectify that problem as I have lost my ruler…..
Now I am not normally one to wear short shorts as they scare me a little bit but my inspiration here was either tights (which I’m not completely sold on but have tried below) or bare legged (hopefully tanned) on a holiday….don’t panic I am not posting the bare legged pics…
Great shorts! I love the white blouse/tunic as well!
