Why the Bralet Reigns Supreme

It’s no secret that I hate wearing bras, I’ve written a whole post on the subject in the past, so when I can go easy, breezy bra-free, I’m all over that. But sometimes things need to be a little more contained depending on the outfit and the situation. *cough* work *cough*.

Luckily for me and my fried eggs, I’ve recently stepped into the magical world of bralets and I’ve fallen head-over-heels for the delicate lace details, the sheer mesh and their unpadded nature.

A bralet is everything a bra is not. They’re comfortable, thin, delicate, breathable and they just feel so smooth under clothes. I’m in love.

With a normal bra I used to go for a slightly padded cup and a tone of underwire to give me a cheeky boost, but underwire is quite literally the bane of my life. It’s painful, restrictive in its movements, and for someone with a smaller chest like myself, just unnecessary. I can’t believe it’s taken me until the age of 29 to try a bloody bralet.

I’ve started with this strappy black number from Lavish Alice with cute lace edging. And it’s perfection.

Long may the bralet reign. I’m ready to champion it. Now excuse me while I go buy more…

    I wish I could wear a bralet. In my case it’d be more like a bra-lot. 🙁
