I feel like I’ve finally learnt how take care of my skin and feel fairly confident that I’ve honed what you could loosely call a skincare routine. I figured I’d share it, as I have fallen in love with a lot of the products I’m about to mention and will recommend them to anyone.
It’s worth pointing out here that I have normal to combination skin. My t-zone tends to get oily as the day progresses and I have dry patches around my nose. Lovely. Let’s begin shall we?
AMI wake up in the morning feeling like P Diddy… Or maybe just a sweaty, bleary-eyed mess. My first port of call is always Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish. If your best mate could be a beauty product, they’d definitely be this cleanser. It’s gentle, sensitive to my skin, not too heavy, doesn’t take any shit and is always reliable.
After I’ve had a shower I apply La Roch-Posay Toleriane Fluide and La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo [+]. I’ve been looking at La Roche-Posay products for ages but never really known what to choose. I did some research and saw that both of these were recommended by Amelia Liana and A Model Recommends, what they don’t know about skincare isn’t worth knowing. I love these two products together, the moisturiser is light enough to be used through summer and the Effaclar Duo works well to control breakouts, getting rid of unsightly blemishes in days. It’s magic in a bottle and I’m hooked. I then finish up with Verso Super Eye Serum as my hayfever is causing some big-ass bags under my eyes at the moment and this seems to give the illusion that I don’t suffer with sleepless nights.
PMAs soon as I get home from work I have to take my make up off and whack my hair in a pineapple. In the evening I have more time to preen so prefer a more intensive cleansing process with heavier products. I use my beloved Emma Hardie Cleansing Balm, which is the gift that keeps on giving. I love how delicious this feels on my skin, it breaks down my make up with ease and really cleans the commuter dirt from my face.
I use Verso Super Facial Serum as my evening moisturiser as it’s slightly heavier and feels more intensive. It massively hydrates my skin after a good cleanse. I use the same eye serum and spot treatment as above. I simply top it all off with a couple of drops of Khiel’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate about twice to three times a week. This makes my skin absolutely glow the next morning and not from sweat thank you very much.
Coconut oil, a hot flannel and Doublebase gel. Simple but effective. Leaves me feeling like Coolio.
