Major Hair Envy: Elizabeth Olsen

I’ve been blonde blonde for a while now and, although I love being a blonde and would ever give it up, I’m starting to find it just a little dull. I’ve been having to go blonder each time I visit my hairdresser as I’ve started to notice quite a lot of greys sneaking through and I’m super paranoid that they show. However I feel like it’s time for something new. Instead of chopping it all off to a shoulder-length bob, changing the colour seems to be the easiest thing.

I of course went straight to the fashion bestie who has recently had a hot hair transformation herself and asked for her opinion. She responded with blonde balayage. I’ve been having foil highlights for around 10 years now so it’s safe to say I had no idea what balayage was, but after some research it’s basically a term used for sweeping colour through pieces of hair with an applicator. It’s more strategic than structured highlights and can be used to really frame and highlight your face.

The image I can’t get out of my head is the beautiful one above of Elizabeth Olsen. She’s giving me major hair envy. It looks natural, sunkissed and most of all pretty low maintenance in terms of root regrowth.

I’m off to text my hairdresser and see if we can recreate this look on yours truly. See you on the other side.
