Jean Genie

This post is well overdue. In fact it’s actually about three months overdue now. In pregnancy terms I’d have probably exploded or something by now… Weird.

So if you read this post, you’ll know that way back in October I took a trip with Al, my dad and brother to Orlando. While we were there, I made it my mission to stock up on three essential items: trainers because my ones have holes in and they’re so expensive in the UK, M&M’s pretzel because they are the actual shit, and finally, jeans because I struggle to get them to fit my arse and thighs.

I hate jean shopping more than I hate the fact that nowhere in the UK sells M&M’s pretzel. Plus, what with us being in the homeland of denim, I figured I’d have a pretty good chance of finding at least one pair, right? Right. I got three.

This all happened to me in an outlet shopping mall near our apartment, in 7 for all Mankind. You see I tried Levi’s, I tried Diesel and both failed me. But 7 for all Mankind rescued me from complete jean devastation, hence the Jean Genie title of this very post.

I decided to ignore blue and black and go straight for colour. First up were these new-line khaki jeans complete with twisted gold zips, creating a seam up the front of the leg.

These are all a lot lower on the waist than I’d usually go for – I’m a fan of a high waisted as I have possibly the longest body in the world – but I always wear jeans with long tops which hides a multitude of sins and any possible pant exposure.

What I’m wearing:
Khaki jeans, 7 for all Mankind
Shirt, Philip Lim for Target (also picked up on holiday – God bless Lim)
Necklaces, Forever 21
Animal print Converse, Converse (another cheeky purchase – how could I not)

I also picked up these gorgeous wet-look red jeans. It was love at first fit.

I’ve turned them up at the ankle as I like my trousers short. Other than that, they are good to go. After a while they do get slightly baggy around the bum but I don’t care. I love them.

What I’m wearing:
Red wet-look jeans, 7 for all Mankind
Checked shirt, Forever 21
Necklaces, Forever 21
Boots, River Island

My final pair are sky blue, short legged and skinny. In fact I’m wearing them right now as I type this. However I’m a bad blogger and forgot to take pictures of them. My bad.

To sign off this post I thought I’d try something a little different… Thanks Bowie.
