As you’ve probably gathered by now I have a bit of an obsession with both sequins and animal print, so the chance to combine them is what my dreams are made of…well, that and Jake Gyllenhaal…
My fairy godmother waved her wand this Christmas and bought me a nail set from Model’s Own, which included a nude varnish, and both a black and white nail art pen. Just the colours I needed to begin my nail transformation.
My fash partner in crime is the master of all things nail art and had created an animal print on my nails a while ago, so I knew the look I was after. I wanted big bold spots and a sparkly finish.
I have to admit, I’m not brilliant at doing my own nails. I have incredibly shaky hands which clearly doesn’t help. I should also apologise in advance for the next picture as I have bad hangnails as I pick my skin. Soz.
Ta da! I started with a standard base coat using Rimmel’s 60 Seconds in Clear and then applied two layers of Model’s Own Nude Beige. I found this nude shade went on smoothly and gave great coverage. It’s a fairly classy colour. I then used the fine nib on the white pen and drew random blobs (technical term!) all over each nail. After that had dried I used the black pen nib to draw round the white dots. To top it all off and to make it a little more ‘me’, I painted all over in L.A Colours Goddess for some added sparkle.
There you have it. Sequin-covered animal-print nails.
How are you painting your nails?
My nails are boring nude today…I need to try something snazzy x
