Couture F/W 09 Round Up…

I know everyone seems to have posted them already but I just wanted to pick out my favourite looks from the Fall/Winter 09 Couture shows….

Christian Dior:
John Galliano focused on sharp silhouettes with the emphasis on the waist. He also chose to pair extravagant jackets with nude showing underwear….

Chanel:
Rather using his traditional white and black, Lagerfeld added touches of colour with embroidered details on prom dresses…although sheer black flirty dresses did feature…

Christian Lacroix:
Rich colours and a mix of textures saw Lacroix use gothic influences mainly in the form of lace and some fancy headgear…

Jean Paul Gaultier:
JPG brought sex back to couture. The shoulders were exaggerated and the materials used varied from leather to fur (fingers crossed its faux) to some kind of sheer chiffon, creating a modern day superwoman…

Elie Saab:
An all white collection with the emphasis on detailing. Sharp tiers and again the obligatory exaggerated shoulder…
