Two Birds, One Stone and the Perfect Dress for a Spring Wedding

I have a lot of weddings coming up this year and next, so whenever I’m shopping I’ve been keeping my eye out for the perfect dress.

I’ve actually found this a lot harder than I thought. Mainly because I’m not really sure what I’m looking for. I know not to wear white and don’t fancy wearing black, but that’s it. It’s a church wedding, so I want to look smart but still with a quirky element of fun. I want it to be a little bit special.

I have loads of dresses in my wardrobe but none fit the bill. Most are too short, too revealing and just don’t say wedding. Until this one appeared.

Dress, c/o Warehouse. Belt, Paul Smith. Necklace, Whistles. Watch, Michael Kors. Shoes, Dune

This dress is absolutely beautiful. It’s dark blue and is covered in pretty flowers, perfect for an April wedding. The best part has to be the back as it’s completely sheer, with just a smattering of flowers over my shoulder bones.

From the front this dress says smart with an element of sexy, due to the sheer layer across the shoulders, but from the back, this dress is ready to party. Hopefully you can capture all that from the artistic shot above by the not-so-new bf. He wanted to try something new.

My favourite part of all, it was a lovely gift from Warehouse. Little did they knew they’d make my day and solve a dressing dilemma. Two birds, one stone and all that.

I just need to find a bright fascinator or hat to complete this look.

What would you wear to a friend’s wedding?
