Finally the sun has arrived! In celebration I’ve got my (slightly bitten and bruised) legs out, brushed my hair and busted out my new digi print dress.
Me and the bestie, or beastie as she’s now taken to calling me, toddled into Kingston to do a spot of shopping. I am beyond skint at the moment (although the Net A Porter sale is ending today…) but had a voucher to spend and the bestie’s credit card.
I’m not good at dressing for the sun. I never know how warm it’s going to feel and therefore never know how much leg is appropriate to flash. Luckily the not-so-new boyf was on hand to help, suggesting I wear my latest purchase from Urban Outfitters, this digi print dress from Kimchi Blue.
It’s super easy to wear, with a deep V front and a flattering gathered waist. What’s even better is that it’s backless. And seeing as I am relatively small chested, going bra-less is never a worry. I have to admit that I am tit-tapped to perfection here!
The fact that the not-so-new boyf suggested I wear this dress brings me back to my plan to have him dress me for a week for the blog. Knowing that he can pick this dress and add my coloured Paul Smith double-wrap belt, gives me that extra reassurance that maybe I won’t look like a complete tool all week.
We shall see. I’m not sure I’m brave enough yet!
As for the shopping, I bought myself a simple black maxi skirt from Topshop. I’ve wanted one for a while now as I know it’ll be easy and reliable for work when I’m not sure what the weather’s up to. I’m planning on road-testing this idea tomorrow so will report back.
Which leads me to ask, what are your summer wardrobe staples?
