I love a fugly shoe. I’m talking obnoxious colours. A shit-tonne of tassels. Fringing, everywhere. And embellishments that are so heavy, it’s an effort to lift your foot. The good news is there are a whole heap that tick those boxes for summer and I’ve done you the favour of rounding them all up in one easy shopping list. You can thank me later.
When I look in my wardrobe every evening as I’m choosing what to wear the next day, I always think to myself, I could really do with a sequin-covered jumper…
Today I’m all about frills, zebraic print (yup, that’s a thing) and a gorgeous romantic-vintage feel. I’m ready for autumn.
When I think of slip-on shoes I’m taken back to my teens and the days of wearing slip-on loafers, backless wallabies and those mesh-like slippers. Yep, I had it going on. However, I’m a sucker for ease and regularly refuse to untie my laces before painfully stuffing my feet in to one of my many pairs of brogues. Which technically means that these slip ons were in fact, made for lazy people like me.
I’m having a flat shoe love affair at the moment. I’ve ditched the boots and wedges and have been stomping around town in my brogues and loafers instead. And it’s been safer for everyone.
I upped my shoe game at Christmas, adding some sparkly little numbers to my collection and I’m in desperate need of a clear out to make some space for them in my wardrobe. Not forgetting these Chain Leather Loafers from & Other Stories which are too good to resist.
I’ve had my eyes on these bad boys for a while now, being sucked in by their canary-yellow soles, pale grey leather upper and heavy chain detail on the vamp. They’re a bold, brash and perfect for summer. In fact, they’re so perfect, I want to own them now. They’ll brighten up an all-black outfit, pep-up jeans and shirts and look just awesome against pleated midi skirts. Sold.
