3 Reasons My Mum is My Hero

My family mean the world to me and there is nothing I’d rather do than spend my days with them. Especially my mum. One way or another I speak to her every single day and she is my absolute hero. Today’s post is dedicated to her amazingness.

1. She devoted herself to giving myself and my brother the best childhood possible. She took time out from work and spent her days tirelessly running around after us.  We didn’t have a lot of money but we had the best time.

2. She’s super selfless, even at the ripe old age of 29 (soon to be 30!) she was upset that she wouldn’t be there to hold my hand at my first dietician’s appointment for my IBS. Mainly because she’s been to every other hospital appointment I’ve ever had, from my tonsillectomy mishap to all the drama with my thyroid and the resulting scar. She’s been there every step of the way, holding my hand. And I couldn’t have done it without her support.

3. She took a massive gamble with her job recently and while it didn’t quite pay off in the way we’d hoped, she didn’t let it defeat her. She dusted herself down and got straight back up again.

She’s a total inspiration and a total badass, and I feel super lucky that I get to call her my mum. She’s taught me that you should never doubt yourself, keep pushing on and make the most of every opportunity, no matter how scary.

Love ya mum. Here’s to the stars.
