This Pleated Midi Dress from ASOS is the new holy grail of summer dresses and I’m going to tell you why…
I’m after a kimono that can multitask. It has to be thin enough to be thrown on over anything, is long enough to cover my lardy arse, is bold and bright and be a reasonable price.
Help, please. You see I have an ASOS voucher burning a hole in my pocket and I’ve whittled down some holiday worthy outfits but I can only afford one.
I have a countdown app on my phone which tells me exactly how long I have until I board my plane and jet off into the sun. I’m talking by the day, hour, minute and second. In the build up to that I’ve started picking up my holiday ‘essentials’. By essentials I mean bikinis, suncream and sunglasses. And while I now have 5 bikinis, 5 bottles of suncream and at least 5 pairs of sunglasses, I still don’t have a hat. And being the pale, freckled wonder that I am, I will burn.[Read more]
Anything that can be done in the shower, saving time, is a winner for me. From shaving my legs and brushing my teeth, to applying my tan, say what?! As soon as I saw St. Tropez Gradual Tan in Shower Lotion that could be applied from the comfort of my shower, I was all over it… After the Boots offer of selling it for a tenner was over, of course. Here are my pros and cons.
I’ve fallen out of love with ASOS recently. I just haven’t found anything that I love enough to spend money on. I’m on the lookout for some cute summer dresses for my holiday but nothing’s really been ticking my boxes. Until now.
I am massively in love with Finery and have blogged about items from their collections a lot, however, I’ve yet to commit to a purchase. I think that might be about to change as Finery are having a floral moment.
I’ve recently organised my wardrobe and have noticed a few gaps, especially for the warmer weather. I’m after another pair of printed trousers and another work-appropriate skirt. They have that and more. I’ve picked out my five favourite floral numbers and trust me when I say this wasn’t an easy process.
While this wouldn’t normally be a colour or print combo I’d go for, I really, really want them. I’d wear them just like the model above, with a tucked in tee and sandals, letting the retro-inspired print do all the talking.
This dress is beautiful and ticks all my needs. It’s made to define the waist, finishes mid calf, has a pleated skirt and has no back, just three intertwining ribbons for straps. It’s perfection.
This dreamy wrap skirt certainly does all the talking. Sitting just below the waistline this skirt features clever panelling details and tuck and turns at every corner. All it needs is a plain top tucked in and some wedges. Both of which I can manage.
I have a feeling that these would show far too much skin for work but weekends and barbecues with friends require smart yet casual dressing which doesn’t get better than this. Plus, I can pack these away for my beach holiday in September.
I’m ending this already gorgeous post on a high with the ultimate dress that’s ready for all occasions. The design feels vintage but the structure adds a modern attitude with it’s wide neck, nipped in waist and cute v-neck dip to the back. I’m sold. And this wasn’t even on my original list.
