Let me start by asking you a question. How many handbags do you have in your collection?
Two, twenty, two hundred? If I’m being honest I probably have around 40ish, give or take a few. At least that’s the conservative number I like to give Al. My collection is made up of a mix of budget, quality leather and then a few cheeky designer ones.
However, if you ask me or any other lady, if there’s room for one more, if they really need that extra bag, they will always say yes.
And this is the bag I think we should ALL say YES to.
It’s an absolute beauty, designed by Adele for Fendi’s Peekaboo Project, where they’ve teamed up with Sotheby’s to raise money for Kids Company.
They asked 10 celebs to personalise their own Peekaboo bag but for me, I don’t care about Gwen’s, I don’t care for Cara’s, it’s all about Adele’s. It’s just a shame I’ll never get my grubby little pores on it.
I love the deep purple against the subtle pink, the eyelashes and the colourful studded sides. It’s gorgeous.
Let’s take a second to cast our minds back to the beginning of November. It was cold, we were all excited about Christmas and I wanted to get my grubby paws on this Z Spoke by Zac Posen bag. I even went as far as calling it the bag of my dreams.
Well guess what… It’s ALL mine.
I’m not entirely sure what Al and my mum are doing here but I love this picture
I didn’t think I’d ever actually own it, as it was still pricey and myself and Al are starting to save our pennies for our own home. So, you can imagine my complete surprise Christmas morning when Al presents me with a humongous wrapped box. I opened it like an over-excited child, clawing at the paper and throwing it over my shoulder. My excitement was sky high as I opened the brown box, seeing the distinct tissue paper from the Outnet and then I laid my eyes on a Zac Posen dust bag. I nearly wet myself. Al had only gone and got me the bag of my actual dreams.
There’s not much to say about this bag. The metallic bronze glistens in the light, the leather smells and feels incredibly soft to touch and t hangs off my arm like a dream.
Coat, Topshop. Dress, Asos. Necklace, Forever 21. Tights, Tesco. Handbag, Z Spoke by Zac Posen.
I’m aware that I’ve typed ‘dream’ A LOT this post but for me, that’s exactly how it feels. Dreamlike. I’m still in shock that Al not only read the post but went and ordered it.
I’ve just checked and they’ve now all sold out. I’m sorry, not sorry.
I’ll be honest with you. I’m very nervous about posting today’s item as my Want it on Wednesday for two reasons. Reason 1, I love it so much but can’t exactly justify buying it as I’m meant to be saving for a house. Reason 2, I’m scared you’ll all now go and buy it and it will go out of stock, flushing my dream of owning it down the drain.
Either way, I’ve decided to be generous and post it. Fingers crossed I’ll send out a subliminal message and receive this as an unexpected Christmas/birthday gift. Well, you never know… There is 50% off…
I knew that once I’d invested in a decent handbag, I’d struggle to go back to buying just any old thing. Once you’ve carried the best leather around on your shoulder you don’t want to go back to pleather. It’s just the start of a very expensive problem. But a problem that I’m willing to have.
You see, I want it but I can’t have it, for two reasons.
1. Although massively reduced in the sale (£795 down to £395) I can’t afford it.
2. It’s sold out. Which kind of solves my problem and makes it worse at the same time.
It’s no secret that I’m instantly attracted to chunky zips and leather tassel and while this bag has both, it also has these cute labelled compartments for coins, cards and your phone. It’s an Anya Hindmarch classic. What’s more the soft green colour is exactly what I’m looking for this summer. Dammit.
I can’t stop thinking about it and have actually just signed myself up to the waiting list. Whoops, not sure how that happened…
Trust me when I say this post has been a looooong time coming…
Way back in December I was lucky enough to save some birthday money and I had one thing in mind to spend it on. A bag. Not just any bag, I wanted an investment bag. The big daddy, the real deal. So we went to Bicester Village…
And this happened…
Bow-chica-wow-wa! Check out this bad boy or should I say beauty. Let me introduce you to the new (not technically new but whatever) love in my life, the Diane von Furstenberg Harper Connect.
I’ll admit, I went to Bicester Village on the recommendations of the fash-bestie who had just got her first Mulberry from the outlet there. She told me to go there with an open mind, to take a look around and that I’d know when I set eyes on the right one.
I always thought the right one would be a Mulberry but I just didn’t get that feeling with any of them, at least not with the ones that were in my price range. But then I went into DvF, twice in fact, and the rest is history.
I love everything about it. It’s structured, it has this tough gold hardware, it has a tassel (I love tassels), it has a short chain strap and a longer across-the-body one. It’s also made from the softest and finest leather I have ever smelt and felt.
It also has a special compartment at the back where you slip your iPad in front of a concealed panel which can be unzipped, so smart. Although, I’ve never really used it for that.
I can honestly say I’ve used this bag every day since I bought it in January. Cost-per-wear that must make it a good deal.
My only problem now is that I don’t know how I’ll go back to using any other bag… Trust me when I say that’s a problem.
I can’t ever resist a Fiorelli handbag. I don’t know why but I’m drawn to them like a Magpie to sparkly stuff. I’m also a sucker for a bargain – who isn’t – so when I saw an email offering me 50% off a selection of Fiorelli handbags, I just had to have a look.
And look what I stumbled across. The Sebastian Grab in the brightest orange known to man… and I like it.
What’s even better is that it’s now only £33. I WANT IT SO BADLY IT HURTS!
