Want it on Wednesday: Warehouse Gold Embellished Jacquard Dress

I’ve been a bit disappointed with the Christmas party dress offerings so far, until I saw this in an email from Warehouse…

This might just be ‘the one’ for me. It has gold, embellished and jacquard in the name. It’s a match made in dress heaven.

It has an embellished Peter Pan collar (kerching), a gorgeous floral print and the best bit, it’s GOLD. Gold means Christmas!

It’s so shiny. Imagine it in all the pictures.

That’s done it. I’m sold. Warehouse and my Gold Embellished Jacquard Dress is just a click away. And £65!

Kate Moss is Back and She’s Wearing Strategically Placed Sequins

Holy smoke. When I saw this image I couldn’t not post it. I don’t normally pick up on magazine covers, let alone men’s mags but this is Kate Moss at her best…

Moss hasn’t been photographed for a men’s mag in 17 years but broke her pledge for Equire’s September issue. Shot by Craig McDean and styled by Kate England this cover is super sexy and super sparkly. That embellished bodysuit is something else. Just look at those strategically placed sequins…

Head over to Esquire for more pics.

Want it on Wednesday: ASOS Tribal Embellished Shift

The title of this dress alone was enough to sell me before I’d even seen it. Then when I saw it, bam, I fell hard.

I have no words…

Well if I must…
The fact that the whole of this shift is embellished is incredible. The colours, a mix of coral, green and blue, are perfect for summer. But the thing that makes this dress for me is the cut-out back. If there’s one thing I love in my dresses, it’s a good cut out. This has it. I want, no definitely need it.

Want it on Wednesday: Topshop Pom Pom Flippy Dress

I honestly don’t even think I need any words with this week’s Want it on Wednesday. If you follow my blog regularly and know my style and likes, then I think the name of this dress alone says it all.

Pom Pom Flippy Dress. Yes please Topshop.

As you would expect, this dress is embellished with not only pom poms, but sequins, in a beautiful mix of greens, blues and orange. As Topshop rightly classified, this would make an amazing festival dress. Until it rained or was ruined by the mud.

I’m now single-handedly determined to bring pom poms back. Yes siree.

Metallic, Embellishment and Fringing in the Goldie London Sale

Goldie London are having a sale. This is not good news for me. I’ve been on a self-inflicted shopping ban since the beginning of the year and I’ve been doing ok, up until now.

I’ve been resisting buying this dress from a previous Want it on Wednesday post or any of the other cut-out dresses I’ve been crushing on.

But now they’ve gone and done this to me…

There’s these Carolina Silver Metallic Trousers, which have been reduced to £20.

This cute Hazer Ivory Blouse with Embellishment, £25. You all know I’ve been on the search for a perfect white shirt which would slip easily into my bulging wardrobe. You also know how I am addicted to embellishment.

To top it all off there’s some fringing thrown in for good measure with this Offside Military Green Long Blouse, £20.

Metallic, embellishment and fringing are three of my favourite words. It’s just not fair. Goldie London, why are you doing this to me?!?!

Charlotte Olympia, She’s Just a Cosmic Girl…

Not two Charlotte Olympia posts in one week I hear you cry. Well get over it because it’s about to happen. I’m having a Charlotte Olympia moment and I’m combining it with a Jamiroquai song. What you going to do?

My new crush of the week has created what can only be described as a super cool cosmic collection. Suddenly the Jamiroquai reference doesn’t seem too silly does it?

I’ve always been interested in my star sign and have been looking into typical traits of a Capricorn. The majority of them ring true, I would say I’m a hard worker, ambitious, stubborn and practical. The two points I would question mainly revolve around patience and organisational skills but we can gloss over those.

I’m basically the goat personified – continuously climbing up the hill. I digress…

This collection is based on the 12 signs with Birthday Shoes and Zodiac Pandora clutches… I’m in love.

I would say that the description below is fairly accurate.

These beauts are my Capricorn birthday shoes. Well they’re not technically mine…

The green is not a colour I’d normally go for but I’m loving it. It’s gorgeous and the contrast of the gold heel looks amazing. The star sign is hand-painted enamel and embellished (one of my favourite words EVER) with Swarovski crystals. Ahhhhhhh.

Want to know what’s even better? There’s a matching clutch. Fist pump.

Introducing the Capricorn Pandora.

Made from coloured perspex the Pandora features the same enamel Zodiac symbol as the shoes. It’s dreamlike.

I know what’s going on my wish list. How about yours?

Crushing On H&M Conscious Exclusive Partywear Collection

H&M is a shop I rarely get over-excited about. I have some basics from there, camis, tees and shorts and I also have some pretty summer dresses, but it’s not a shop I go out of my way to go to.

Having said that, their new Conscious Exclusive partywear collection has me very excited. Championing eco-style, the whole collection is made from sustainable materials including recycled polyester and organic cotton and looks incredible.

This collection is so awesome to me that I’ve actually picked an item for a few of my besties. It’s that good, there’s something for everyone.

Pink embellished dress, £69.99

I would keep this pink beauty for myself. I love the embellishment running across the chest and down the sides of the hips, drawing the eyes down the body. The nipped in waist, the flared skirt with the pleats, it’s all perfect. I even want the matching clutch.

Black jumpsuit £39.99

My fash partner in crime would look so
hot in this jumpsuit it’s unreal. The slim cigarette pants, the cut-out
detailing to the back and the highlighted waist would suit her figure
to a tee.

Tulle dress, £149.99
My original bestie (whose wedding I’ve recently blubbed my way through) would do this dress absolute justice with her tiny frame.
 White lace dress £199.99

The
bestie I have in mind for this would not normally wear something so
conservative. She’s all about body-con, and rightly so with her figure. I
however, would love to see her in this. It’s so different for her but
her pale skin and strawberry-blonde hair would rock this.

 Blue dress, £59.99
This blue dress belongs in the ex-work wife’s wardrobe. This colour was made for her, as was the deep v, nipped in waist and dipped hem.
The collection landed in 140 stores last week, so don’t miss out.
Which outfit is your favourite from the range?

Disclaimer: Besties, don’t be alarmed if you’re not mentioned here. It’s just because I couldn’t find a dress that was perfect for you

Want it on Wednesday: Sophie Hulme Embellished Wool Coat

I feel like everyone at the moment is talking about Sophie Hulme, and rightly so. She makes classic pieces with a real structured, tough edge. There’s something quite masculine about her clothes which I’m drawn to.

She makes beautiful boxy clutches and totes, but today I’ve dedicated my love to one item and one item only. This Sophie Hulme Embellished Wool Coat from Net-A-Porter.

Firstly, I love how this coat is navy. I always tend to buy black coats but navy is more subtle and actually a lot more flattering on my pale skin tone, as I’m blonde with blue eyes. The gold embellishment around the neckline compliments the colour and adds a bit of sparkle.

It’s a great cut, boxy but with slim shoulders so it’ll just skim the body. It looks like they’re 3/4-length sleeves too so would look fab pushed up at the elbows.

Imagine this draped casually over your shoulders, that’s what I’m doing right now. Especially as it’s £980.

Have you got a favourite Sophie Hulme piece?

5 Embellished Jumpers You Need for January

I am a big fan of over-sized chunky jumpers and a love nothing more in life than a bit of embellishment, so when the two things combine, I couldn’t be happier. A jumper for me can be elevated into something smarter and more elegant when a bit of sparkle is involved.

I’ve picked my top five jumpers to make sure you’re sparkling through January.

1. Thakoon Addition Sequined Mesh and Cotton-Jersey Sweater, £232

This is my top pick of the bunch. I love the juxtaposition of the cute spots against the black sequins around the neck. It’s cute and classy and would look perfect with some slim trousers or jeans. Want to dress it up? Pair it with a flirty leather skirt. Perfection.

2. Markus Lupfer Lips Sequined Knitted Sweater, £282

This post wouldn’t feel complete unless it included a sequined sweater from Markus Lupfer. This one has it all. It’s bright pink and has a gloriously big and sexy sparkly mouth on it. What more could you ask for?

3. Donna Karan Sequin-embellished Crochet Cashmere-blend Sweater, £368.75

This Donna Karan number is what my dreams are made of. It’s pure silver-sparkling heaven. It’s so decadent it almost hurts the eyes, but I love it. It’s on the expensive side, so for me, long may the dreams continue…

4. Zara Diamante Embellished Sweat, £29.99

Zara is great for fashion-forward pieces at affordable prices and this jumper is just that. It’s thick and chunky with intricate knitted panels running down the front, which wouldn’t look complete unless covered in sequins. It would be rude not to.

5. ASOS Embellished Neck Jumper, £35

The final in my top five is this simple ASOS sweat. It’s a subtle but effective take on embellishment with the flower detail around the neck. It’s also cheap, cheap, cheap.

Which jumper would you pick?
