My 5 Evening Skincare Essentials

It’s taken me a while to hone my evening skincare routine, really working out what works best for my skin type. For a long time I didn’t even have a routine, switching between makeup remover wipes that would pull at my eyes followed by a swipe of Simple moisturiser to finish. These days I have five products I swear by and could spend at least 30 minutes applying them all.

As soon as I get home from work the first thing I do is pull on my pjs and clip my hair on top of my head so it’s off my face. Hands up if you too look forward to getting home and taking off your bra, I know I’m not alone. Once I’m in my slouchy clothes, I’m ready to begin the face cleansing process.

If I’m wearing a lot of eye make I always remove that with my trusty Bioderma Sensibio H2O Micelle Solution and a cotton pad, if not, I reach straight for my Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser. It’s now a staple in my collection and way more affordable than Emma Hardy Moringa Cleansing Balm, which I still have a tiny bit left of. I use one pump and massage this into my face, in circular motions down to my neck. I then wash it all off with a damp muslin cloth.

Next up is serum. I’m using Lancôme’s Advanced Génifique which I pat into my skin. It makes my skin feel plumper and gives a gorgeous glow and feel. On top of that I layer Origins A Perfect Word Age-Defence Moisturiser with White Tea. Together they work well to really hydrate my skin, combating any dry patches I might have around my nose. My skin drinks in this combination. In the mornings I love waking up and it still feeling moisturised, not tight. When I apply this I like to give myself a mini massage to unwind and revitalise.

To top it all off, I apply La Rouche-Posay Effaclar Duo to any blemishes or rough patches and leave it to work its magic.

These five wonder products have helped hydrate my skin, made it look plumper and overall kept it in check. Result.
