10 Things I’ve Loved This Month: February Favourites

I thought I’d get adventurous this month and share with you the ten things I’ve been loving, from perfume to shoes, to books to socks.

Rimmel’s Colour Rush Lip Crayon
This is so well used that the bullet has vanished as has all product mention on the side. I’ve been grabbing this in the mornings for a quick swipe to add some colour to my face. It’s easy to apply, can be done on my commute and easily built upon. It also lasts fairly well. This is the shade 20, Rumour Has it and it’s the best bright red.

Lancôme Miracle Cushion
I have a love hate relationship with foundations. I love their flawless finish but I hate feeling like I’m wearing heavy makeup. I don’t want to be able to see my foundation when I look closely. And, when I blow my nose, I don’t want the tissue to go orange. What I do want is something that hides the bits I want hidden but that still gives me a healthy glow, the Miracle Cushion does just that. It comes in a handy on-the-go compact, the liquid is miraculously kept cool so feels amazing when applied, and it’s lightweight. I couldn’t ask for anything more.

Maison Martin Margiela Replica Flower Market Perfume
As soon as everyone and their dog start wearing a perfume I like, I have to change it. I don’t know why but it bothers me. I like to have a signature scent and currently that is Maison Martin Margiela Flower Market. Bought for me from my bestie Cheryl, it’s heady mix of florals and Spring. It’s not too sweet yet not too heavy which makes it perfect.

Fox Eye Mask
This eye mask is basically the reason I get eight hours of sleep a night. Al can’t fall asleep unless he has the TV or iPad on in the background whereas I like complete darkness to drift off in. This builds those bridges.

Soap & Glory Archery Brow Tint and Precision Shaping Pencil
I have quite dark eyebrows which are a little patchy in places and I find this helps me fill them in while keeping them looking natural. My face does not suit anything that looks too done so I can do it roughly and not need to worry about them looking too false.

Price’s Lullaby Scented Candle, Camomile and Lime Tree
When this candle is burning, it instantly relaxes you. I have been burning these nearly everyday after work while I try to unwind and blog, and they do the job. Camomile is always a hit in my books.

Balance Me Rose Otto Hand Cream
This cold weather completely tears my hands to pieces. I suffer from excema in between my fingers which gets so bad it cracks and bleeds. Every night I slather so much hand cream on I can’t hold my phone without it slipping out of grip, which is both a blessing and a curse.

Glitter Socks
Glitter socks are a sure fire way to brighten up my day. I wear them every time I wear jeans or trousers, as they hit my ankles leaving enough room for a hint of sparkle before my shoes. Guaranteed smile.

ASOS Red Glitter Boots
Otherwise known as my Dorothy boots. You can’t help but stare at these sparkling wonders. They always get commented on, they make everyone laugh and they kill my ankles, all at the same time.

Lean In, Women, Work and the Will to Lead by Sheryl Sandberg
I was recommend this book buy a colleague who said it really made her think about the differences men and women face at work, and it had the same effect on me. I realised how uneven the playing field is for women. Men get paid more, they get listened to more because they find a way to shout louder and will always sell themselves higher than women. It also poses a very poignant question, ‘what would you do if you weren’t afraid?’

That’s me done. What have you been loving this month?
